About Lennart Verheijen

Lennart brings more than 16 years of experience in the EV sector, working with grid operators, CPMS providers, and as a consultant. He has been at the forefront of international developments in smart charging, has delivered training on the EV market to industry professionals for many years, and has extensive experience in product development, product management, and leading product teams. As a consultant, he has supported many commercial players in the EV sector and therefore has a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges within this market. At EVesto, he will lead the product team.

AFIR NAP reporting: What CPOs need to know ahead of Power2Drive Europe 2026

The European EV charging landscape is evolving rapidly, and with it, regulatory requirements are becoming more stringent. At the center of this development is the Alternative Fuels Integration Regulation (AFIR), which introduces new obligations for CPOs.

With Power2Drive Europe 2026 approaching, these developments are becoming increasingly relevant, as AFIR is expected to be one of the key topics shaping industry discussions this year.

One of the key requirements under AFIR is the obligation to share charging infrastructure data through National Access Points (NAPs). This shift plays an essential role in creating a more transparent, accessible, and interoperable charging ecosystem across Europe. By making charging data publicly available in a standardized format, EV drivers can more easily locate charging points, access real-time availability and rely on consistent charging experiences across borders.
What does AFIR require from CPOs?
Under Article 20 of AFIR, operators of public and semi-public charging infrastructure are required to provide both static and dynamic data to their national access points:
  • Static data includes information such as location, connector types, and power output
  • Dynamic data includes real-time availability, operational status, and pricing
To ensure consistency and usability, this data must be updated frequently and delivered in a standardized format (DATEX II), with strict deadlines coming into force in 2026.
While the objectives of AFIR (greater transparency, interoperability and improved user experience) are clear, achieving compliance can be complex. Each EU member state operates its own NAP, often with subtle but important differences in implementation. For CPOs operating across multiple countries, managing these variations can quickly become a technical and operational challenge.

With more than 28 years of international commercial leadership experience across the software, technology, and digital infrastructure industry, Harold joins EVesto to lead and expand the company’s commercial strategy and international growth ambitions.

In his role as CCO, Harold will be responsible for all commercial activities across European markets, with a strong focus on scaling revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and building a high-performance commercial organization to support EVesto’s next phase of expansion. His role will include leading sales and partnership initiatives, as well as identifying new opportunities to enhance EVesto’s position as a trusted platform for scalable EV charging infrastructure management.

we recently officially celebrated our fifth anniversary. What started as an ambitious idea has evolved into an international leader in Charge Point Management Systems (CPMS). We’re proud to mark this moment with an important step forward, welcoming Jeroen Veld as our new CEO.

Our growth over the past 5 years

When +EVesto was founded in 2020, our founders recognized a clear need in the market: an open, scalable, and truly independent CPMS solution for CPOs. From that vision, we built, technology, partnerships, and a global customer base.

Looking back, co-founder Sebastiaan Groeneveld reflects on the journey:
